2. The Broncos may have the best edge group in the league

It’s safe to say the Denver Broncos have the best duo of edge players in the NFL, rivaled by very few in the NFL.

Von Miller and Bradley Chubb appear poised to be the biggest difference makers in Denver in 2019, and together, they take the Broncos’ defense to a completely different level.

We saw Bradley Chubb only a little bit in preseason play, but what we did see leads me to believe he’s primed for a big-time breakout season, which is crazy considering he racked up 12 sacks as a rookie.

Chubb has added nuance to his game, moves to his repertoire, and every snap seems to slow the game down for him more and more.

Miller is in the prime of his career, ready to begin his quest to challenge Bruce Allen for the most sacks in NFL history.

Despite the fact that the Broncos lost primary backups Shaquil Barrett and Shane Ray this past offseason, they may have assembled the most talented group of edge players they’ve had in John Elway’s tenure as GM.

That’s saying something considering the 2015 grouping of Miller, DeMarcus Ware, Barrett, and Ray.

The Broncos replaced Barrett and Ray with rookies Justin Hollins and Malik Reed, and both players showed out exceptionally well in preseason play.

We’ll need to see them put that kind of strong work on tape in preseason play to make any declarations, but it’s possible that this is the best group of four edge players the Broncos have had since Elway took the team over in 2011.
