Several former Denver Broncos let go across NFL
Super Bowl 50 defenders
Another former member of the Broncos linebacking group is 2016 first-rounder Shane Ray. The Baltimore Ravens cut ties with Ray on Friday as well. Ray missed thirteen games over the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos.
In games that he played in, however, he recorded a total of 94 tackles and 14 sacks.
Corey Nelson makes the number of former Broncos linebackers released jump up to three. He was released by the Bucaneers.
Nelson spent four seasons (2013-2017) in orange and blue. He recorded 104 combined tackles in that span, but missed eleven games in 2017.
Nelson is reportedly going to visit the Broncos on MondayThe team will have a few more roster spots open after they place quarterback Drew Lock, running back Theo Riddick and tight end Jake Butt on injured reserve.
Nelson also has just one career sack, which came in 2015.
Cornerback Kayvon Webster was released by the New Orleans Saints on Friday. Webster had been recovering from injuries. He has been unable to stay healthy over the last several seasons.
Webster had a stint with the Los Angeles Rams before landing in New Orleans. The 28-year old Webster is a special teams ace. If anybody were to make a case for him to head back to the Denver Broncos, that would be the strongest argument.
On the defensive front, former Broncos defensive tackle Sylvester Williams was released by the New Orleans Saints. Williams recorded six sacks during his time in Denver (2013-2016) and helped the Broncos become a top-3 defensive against the run, allowing just 83.6 yards per game on the ground.
