Two longtime Broncos

Former Broncos linebackers have been let go across the league as well, most notably Brandon Marshall. In mid-February, the Denver Broncos declined Marshall’s option, effectively making him a free agent. The divisional rival Oakland Raiders signed him just over a month later.

The release of Marshall is somewhat of a surprise, because he was expected to be the Raiders starting middle linebacker in 2019.

It is fair to wonder if the Broncos would consider bringing him back to the Mile High City, with Todd Davis banged up.

Demaryius Thomas will not be a member of the New England Patriots for the 2019 season. The former Broncos Pro Bowler was part of the Patriots’ cuts on Saturday. It will be interesting to see where he lands.

Thomas recorded five straight 1,000-yard seasons for the Broncos but drops and injuries hurt him late in his Broncos career.

He was eventually traded to the Houston Texans in 2018, where he recorded 23 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a season-ending injury.
