Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 45. 5-11. 205 pounds. DavontaeHarris. CB

The Broncos continued their impressive collection of members from the class of 2018 as they will sign cornerback Davontae Harris, a fifth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Harris was an FCS All-American at Illinois State, where he racked up 208 total tackles, 39 pass breakups, and four interceptions in three seasons as a starter.

Do you think his 4.43 speed is going to be useful covering kicks and punts?

The Bengals had Harris on their IR/return list last year, which means that he’s the second guy the Broncos acquired around roster cuts who was a 2018 draft pick at corner that spent half the year on IR (Duke Dawson is the other).

Harris is known for his physical, attacking style of play, but he’s still playing catch-up transitioning from the FCS to the NFL in terms of overall coverage abilities.

The talent, physicality, and athletic ability are all there for him.

I don’t know if Harris is going to turn out to be a starting cornerback, but he’s certainly got talent and I love that the Broncos are taking shots on guys with this kind of talent in Vic Fangio’s defense.
