Joe Flacco is the only healthy quarterback on the roster

Just to get this out of the way, I know there is no way John Elway is going into the first game of the 2019 season with only Joe Flacco as the quarterback. But the fact that Kevin Hogan and Brett Rypien were released and waived respectfully is a bit of a surprise.

I thought Denver would have kept at least one of them. And that makes it even more surprising when John Elway said that Drew Lock would end up going on injured reserve.

For how long he will be there remains to be seen. But having only Joe Flacco at quarterback on the roster is a bit shocking. I know Hogan did not play well and I assume that the Broncos felt Rypien would not be qualified to be the backup until Lock is ready.

A lot of rumors are flying that the Broncos are interested in Brian Hoyer, but we will see how the rest of the waiver wire looks. This is a move that will not last long, but still a bit of a surprise having only one quarterback on the roster as of this writing.
