The Broncos have made their first big roster cut as the team trims down to the final 53 players. Su’a Cravens was informed he will not play for Denver.

As all 32 teams begin trimming down to the final 53-man roster, there will be some tough decisions to be made. For the Denver Broncos, they already had to make one regarding one Su’a Cravens.

According to multiple reports, as well as a tweet sent out by Cravens himself, the Denver Broncos are parting ways with the safety after he spent a full season with the team. The move comes as a bit of a surprise, in my opinion. It seemed as if he was doing well. While he had a bad moment in Thursday’s preseason game, he made up for it with a forced fumble and recovery.

Denver acquired Su’a Cravens in a trade from the Washington Redskins. Because of the release, it appears the Broncos will get their sixth round draft pick back. Which helps after the Broncos lost a sixth round pick earlier Friday in a trade with the New England Patriots.

It is truly a shame that it did not end up working with Su’a Cravens. He was very excited about the opportunity to play for the Denver Broncos. It just did not last long. Being placed on injured reserve for the first half of the 2018 season was tough on its own.

Cravens had to scratch and claw to get himself back and hopefully make the roster. He showed some strives late in the preseason. Sadly enough, it seemed to be a case of too little, too late.

I hope that Su’a Cravens lands on his feet and on an NFL roster somewhere. I have no doubt that he can find success. Broncos Country is sad to see such a promising player go.
