It became no surprise to Broncos Country that Malik Reed would become one of the 53 men on the Denver Broncos active roster after his preseason performance.

The Denver Broncos will continue their streak of undrafted free agents making the final 53-man roster after a strong showing by Malik Reed in the 2019 preseason. After Thursday’s performance, it is no surprise that he will be suiting up on Sunday’s in the fall.

Vic Fangio talked to the media after Denver’s win over Arizona Thursday night and stated that Malik Reed will in fact be part of the final 53-man roster when it becomes finalized on Saturday. This will mark 15 out the last 16 years that the Broncos will have an undrafted free agent make the final roster.

To have that kind of stat is downright amazing. Denver is known for finding diamonds in the rough. We saw it with Chris Harris Jr., Phillip Lindsay, Jamal Carter, and C.J. Anderson to name a few. Somehow, someway, the Denver Broncos are excellent in finding these undrafted players.

What will Malik Reed’s role be in the Denver Broncos defense? To simply put it, he will likely spell either Von Miller or Bradley Chubb. He could also see some snaps on special teams.

No matter how you put it, Reed has shown how much hard work can carry you in this league. Having him under Vic Fangio’s defense could be very helpful when it comes to the player and with the defense that Fangio is forming together.

Once the season begins, the NFL will start to see what the Broncos saw in Malik Reed. Then again, when you are dubbed the “Dream Killer” by Von Miller, there is no doubt that he can be a special player on defense in this league.

We are looking forward to seeing what Reed can do in the regular season in 2019! Congratulations to him!
