Brandon Marshall was surprisingly cut by the Oakland Raiders on Saturday morning. Should the Denver Broncos bring him back?

The news that the Oakland Raiders waived former Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall surprised the NFL world a bit this Friday afternoon.

After signing a one year deal in March, Marshall was expected to be their starter. However, B-Marsh missed training camp due to injury, and the Raiders apparently felt they were deep enough at linebacker to part ways with Marshall in order to cut their roster down.

Although it is a known fact that Marshall was excited to play for his hometown of Las Vegas once the Raiders made the move, there is another place that Marshall has called home where the fans would take him back with open arms.

Denver CBS anchor Romi Bean put a tweet out to Brandon Marshall, telling him to come home. Below is Marshall’s response:

Another thing to consider is that Marshall, even not being on the roster, accounts for $4 million worth of the Broncos’ cap space. So, why not just have him on the roster?

Although Marshall missed most of 2018 due to injury, the Broncos staff, although new and improved, already know what they have in this player. Marshall would be another anchor to this improved defense and would get the opportunity to play under a much better defensive-minded head coach.

Marshall was a fan favorite in Denver and was very valuable to the community of Denver, off and on the field. Marshall is avid in his charity work and any city would be highly lucky to have him.

That being said, a return to the Broncos just makes so much sense for him. It is a locker room he knows and loves, and a fan base that adores him as well.

It is likely that if a reunion does happen, it would likely only be on a one year deal at most, followed by Marshall testing the free agency waters once again. However, it would be an awesome opportunity for Marshall to get a chance to play under this new coaching staff and to have another healthy campaign with the Broncos.

Here’s to hoping Vic Fangio and John Elway feel the same way.
