DL: Adam Gotsis, Derek Wolfe, Shelby Harris, Dre’Mont Jones, DeMarcus Walker, Mike Purcell, DeShawn Williams, Devon Sizer (8).

Adam Gotsis, Derek Wolfe, Shelby Harris, Dre’Mont Jones, and DeMarcus Walker were all seemingly locks to make the 53-man roster before the preseason.

That still holds true in my eyes.

The Denver Broncos released nose tackle Zach Kerr on Monday. That’s why he is not on this list.

The biggest surprise this preseason has been Mike Purcell. Especially during the matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. The Denver Broncos have clearly liked what they’ve seen from Purcell. Otherwise, they would have likely kept Kerr instead.

Purcell looked like he’s been with Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell for years and years. He made plenty of tackles and burst through the Rams’ offensive line with ease.

While Purcell was the biggest  surprise, the nicest surprise has been DeMarcus Walker. He spent the first two years of his career at linebacker, but once the new coaching staff put him back in his natural position—on the defensive line—it all seems to have come together.

Prediction: Adam Gotsis, Derek Wolfe, Shelby Harris, Dre’Mont Jones, DeMarcus Walker, Mike Purcell, DeShawn Williams (7)
