Offensive line

John Leglue, Sam Jones, & Austin Schlottmann

The Broncos have very little clarity on the offensive line beyond their starting five.

They’ve been rotating a bunch of guys into the starting lineup, including Austin Schlottmann, a 2018 undrafted free agent out of TCU who has been playing all three interior positions this offseason.

Schlottmann seems to stand a pretty good chance of making the team with that kind of versatility, as does Elijah Wilkinson, who would probably be the team’s top option to replace Ron Leary if he gets hurt at all at right guard.

With Wilkinson and Schlottmann, the Broncos have — to put it as kindly as possible — inexperienced and unproven depth on the offensive line.

Teams usually carry eight or nine guys into the regular season, and fill out the roster to 10 via the practice squad.

One guy making a case this preseason is John Leglue, an undrafted rookie who can play inside and outside.

The Broncos also drafted Sam Jones in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Will they keep him around or let him go? He has graded out okay in pass protection this preseason, but has allowed a number of pressures on the inside.
