Denver Broncos: Who can earn roster spots against the Cardinals?
Running back/fullback
RB Khalfani Muhammad & FBs George Aston, Orson Charles
Khalfani Muhammad had a whale of a game in the Hall of Fame Game against the Atlanta Falcons, but was unfortunately hurt and missed the next couple of contests.
He came out against the Los Angeles Rams and made some nice plays, specifically a fun play where he caught a pass in the flat and made a nice spin move toward the middle of the field for a solid gain.
But has he done enough to make the roster at this point? The two weeks he missed killed some of his momentum in that regard, and because Devontae Booker is both cheap and experienced while Muhammad is unproven, I could see the Broncos just try to put Muhammad on the practice squad for the time being.
At fullback, the question is a bit tougher to answer.
We’ve seen some good, some not so good from George Aston. Plus, is he a special teams ace like Andy Janovich? That’s part of the reason Janovich is so valuable to the Broncos.
Orson Charles, the veteran who was released by Cleveland earlier this offseason, may have a better chance to stick because of his role in the offense (primarily a fullback) and on special teams.
