Shelby Harris, nose tackle

In a contract year and coming off of some wildly productive years as a reserve for the Denver Broncos, Shelby Harris is in no danger of not making the team, but that doesn’t mean he can’t flex a little in preseason play.

Harris has only logged 25 snaps of preseason play, but in typical form, he’s really done a great job of making the most of his snaps.

The Broncos are going to be counting on more from Harris this year as a starting nose tackle in Vic Fangio’s defense. He has shown the full arsenal of his every-down skill set.

Against the 49ers alone, we saw Harris get some nice push in the pass rush, bat down two passes at the line of scrimmage, and read a screen play perfectly, showing off his athleticism by sprinting out and making a tackle for no gain on the 49ers’ only completed pass in Jimmy Garoppolo’s work.

Brian Baldinger has a really great breakdown of Harris’ play against the 49ers here.

Harris has the fire on the interior to drive defenses crazy with the Broncos’ edge combo of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.
