Denver Broncos: Players to keep an eye on against 49ers
The starting secondary
Will we get to see the full starting secondary in this game?
Maybe.
Bryce Callahan has missed some time in training camp being cautious with a foot injury. Kareem Jackson has been taking some days off to make sure a hamstring injury doesn’t linger.
Still, I think there’s a chance we will see the number one secondary in its full glory in this game. If not, we’ll at least get to see the majority of it, and a player like Su’a Cravens or Will Parks filling in as the other starting safety.
There’s nothing wrong with that, either.
The Broncos’ defense is so talented, but their secondary is one unit expected to take a monstrous leap under Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell. Fangio’s defensive scheme has long been a turnover machine and the Bears led the NFL in that category last season.
It would be great, at the very least, to see what the Broncos’ secondary looks like with both Callahan and Chris Harris Jr. at the cornerback positions.
