Observations: Special teams

We can’t over-generalize and say every area of special teams was terrible in this one, but aside from Brandon McManus and Colby Wadman, everyone was terrible.

The coverage units and return units were miserable yet again for the Broncos. So bad, in fact, that Vic Fangio said after the game they would use starters on special teams if they had to in order to get things done there.

I’m not sure if the poor play of the special teams will result in Tom McMahon getting fired or what, but there’s going to be something coming soon.

The Broncos currently don’t have a viable option in the return game.

River Cracraft can catch the punts, but what’s he going to do with them? Nick Williams can catch punts, but even he muffed one in this game.

dark. Next. Possible 49ers trade targets

The Broncos are obviously missing their top special teamer in Joe Jones, so is that making all the difference? Maybe, but this group has to be better.
