Elijah Lee, linebacker

The 49ers once plucked the former seventh-round pick out of Kansas State off the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, and he’s developed into a decent player at the NFL level.

In 13 games last season, he racked up 65 tackles with five starts and a lot of increased reps down the stretch.

Although Lee is listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, he did his best work against the run for the 49ers last season, racking up 27 ‘stops’ in the run game, according to Pro Football Focus.

Lee is currently out with a thumb injury, but he’s also listed on the 49ers’ second-team defense right now and is possibly available if the Broncos can give them something mutually beneficial, whether draft compensation or possibly a secondary player who could make an impact.

The Broncos have taken some hits at the linebacker position this offseason injury-wise, and having a player like Lee come in could be a nice move for depth.
