Fifth cornerback

At this point in time, the Broncos’ top four cornerback spots seem set.

Chris Harris Jr. and Bryce Callahan are the starters. Isaac Yiadom and De’Vante Bausby appear poised for significant roles as reserves.

Who do the Broncos even have behind those guys? If you’ve been reading Predominantly Orange all offseason, you probably know the answer to that question. Thanks for reading.

Many Broncos fans may not even know about Bausby at this point, an indicator that the team’s depth at corner is suspect, to say the least.

The team has Kareem Jackson working almost exclusively at safety, but if there were an injury to one of their top two guys, the Broncos would be able to move Jackson from his new spot back to his original position of cornerback.

Right now, I don’t know of a player on this Broncos roster who is a clear-cut pick for the fifth cornerback if the team chooses to keep one.

The Broncos could keep nine defensive backs with five safeties and Jackson is their main floater. They could scour the waiver wire as well, but they can’t rely on that.

Horace Richardson is listed as the CB5 on the roster currently. Linden Stephens, Alijah Holder, and Trey Johnson along with Rashard Causey are behind him. These guys have been torched in two preseason games, so it’s easy to wonder whether or not they can actually be regular season options.

Next. Undrafted players who could make the roster. dark

Again, a starter is not needed here, but a backup player worth rostering and playing on game day is certainly welcome.
