The Denver Broncos have made a roster move to add depth to the secondary as Rashard Causey joins the team after spending time with the Atlanta Falcons.

As the Denver Broncos prepare for their joint practices with the San Francisco 49ers, the team decided to bring in former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Rashard Causey to help out in the secondary.

The Broncos have brought in some help in the secondary. Causey played in a few snaps for the Atlanta Falcons during the Hall of Fame game. However, he would end up getting waived from the team the next day.

In order to make room on the roster, the Denver Broncos waived Jeff Holland. For most of Broncos Country, this one came as a bit of a surprise. However, because of the play of Malik Reed and Justin Hollins, it made some sense.

With Kareem Jackson playing safety and Jamal Carter transitioning to the inside linebacker hybrid position, this move made some sense to get some more depth at the secondary position. Chris Harris Jr. and Bryce Callahan have been dubbed the starters. Other than Issac Yiadom and Devantae Bausby, there is not a lot of depth at the cornerback spot.

I believe that Denver saw something in Rashard Causey that warranted bringing him in to the building. Will he make the final 53-man roster? That remains to be seen. But it should bring some solid competition to the secondary spot.

Causey spent his collegian career at the University of Central Florida where he recorded two sacks and 48 tackles in 13 games as a senior. He would be the starter for five of those games.

It should be very interesting how he does during his time with the Denver Broncos. Certainly, he will be one of the names to keep an eye out for during the 2019 preseason.
