The Denver Broncos got stronger at the tight end position on Sunday, with Jake Butt, Jeff Heuerman, and Bug Howard returning to practice.

Tight end Jake Butt finally caught a break. The Denver Broncos tight end has returned to practice on Sunday, which is a good sign after he had been dealing with injuries.

The addition of Butt to the field is not only good for him, but for the Broncos, who needed more tight ends for practice and the remainder of the preseason.

The team also got Jeff Heuerman and Bug Howard back at the tight end position.

It would not surprise me if the Broncos went into the 2019 regular season with four tight ends on the active roster. Along with Heuerman, Butt, and Howard, the team also has rookie Noah Fant, second-year player Troy Fumagalli and  Moral Stephens.

The Broncos lost tight end Austin Fort to a torn ACL during Thursday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

With three preseason games left to go, it is important to have enough players at each position to get through the next couple of weeks before the start of the regular season.

Jake Butt’s spot on the roster could have been questioned due to his injury history. However, it looks as if those questions may have been answered. With the injuries at the position, I highly doubt the Broncos will move on from him, especially now that we got good news about him.

The tight end position is expected to be a big part of the Denver Broncos plans in 2019 with Joe Flacco looking their way often. It is exciting that the team has so many young players at the position.

Now, hopefully the team can stay healthy at that position so that they can have the best chance to succeed under Joe Flacco and Rich Scangarello.
