Faller: Devontae Booker, running back

Competing with: Theo Riddick, Khalfani Muhammad

Unfortunately for Devontae Booker, it seems the writing is already on the wall.

Booker seemed to have a clear grip on the team’s third running back spot behind Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay, but that no longer appears to be the case.

Booker’s game against Seattle was his first action of the preseason, and it started off really bad and didn’t get much better.

Booker fumbled the opening kickoff, which he took for a very short gain, and managed to recover it himself. He got some play with the second offense and had a short gain on a sweep to the outside and he slipped behind the line of scrimmage on another run play that was wiped out by a penalty.

While many of us were once thrilled to have Booker on the roster, it now appears as though a change of scenery could be the best thing for everyone.
