Riser: Malik Reed, outside linebacker

Battling with: Justin Hollins, Dekoda Watson, Jeff Holland

The Broncos have a pretty solidified top two at outside linebacker, I would say.

Bradley Chubb and Von Miller are probably the best pair of edge players in the entire NFL. Behind those guys, the Broncos will have brand new depth. Last year, the Broncos had veterans Shaquil Barrett and Shane Ray backing up Miller and Chubb.

This year? It’s up for debate.

Through two preseason games, however, Malik Reed is looking exceptional.

He had a sack against the Atlanta Falcons showing off his speed around the edge, and he followed that up by using a spin move to the inside to beat an offensive tackle this time (beat a tight end against Atlanta) for his second sack of the preseason.

Reed is getting to the quarterback with regularity and if he continues to show out as a pass rusher, the Broncos are going to have no choice but to keep him on the squad.
