Austin Fort seems to be a quintessential roster bubble player.

He’s an undrafted rookie the team really liked and prioritized in the UDFA signing frenzy, and he’s flashed all offseason and throughout camp the type of great receiver he can be at the position.

Fort has also shown some signs of his youth and inexperience, dropping some passes along the way.

In this preseason game against Seattle, Fort has a chance to really establish himself as a threat to take someone’s job. The Broncos have struggled so badly with injuries at the tight end position, I think they would probably feel inclined to keep four on the active roster.

Right now, the smart money is still on Jake Butt if he can get out on the field. Remember, the Broncos still have four preseason games and the rest of the month of August to evaluate.

Fort is not going to be the only healthy back-end-of-the-roster tight end for much longer, so he needs to do what he can to set himself apart in an actual game.
