2nd year. 33. Muhammad shines in preseason debut. Pick Analysis. RB. KhalfaniMuhammad. player. 45

Khalfani Muhammad had 74 yards of total offense in the Broncos’ win over the Falcons, and he also added a nice 24-yard kickoff return.

The speedy running back was joined at his position group last week by veteran Theo Riddick, who is pretty much guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster with a $1 million signing bonus.

Muhammad, on the other hand, is guaranteed absolutely nothing.

He has four more weeks to continue to prove to the Broncos that his speed is a necessity on gamedays in the 2019 season. I’m already convinced it’s a weapon the team cannot live without since Phillip Lindsay is the only other guy as fast as Muhammad on the offensive side of the ball.

The Broncos will undoubtedly continue to test Muhammad and whether he can put together a consistently high level of play. He showed he can run outside, inside, catch passes, and play special teams.

Now the pressure is on to build off that great first performance and win a roster spot.
