Who will step up at cornerback?

Horace Richardson had a solid debut for the Denver Broncos against the Atlanta Falcons.

Richardson read a screen play perfectly and was blue to stop the receiver from a long gain.

That is good news for Richardson. Fangio wants guys on defense who tackle. That is a big part of his scheme. I noticed in the Falcons matchup that tackling was their number one priority. That is what happens when you play zone defense: you give up short passes.

Second-year cornerback Isaac Yiadom has impressed me thus far in 2019 after a rough rookie season.

First-year Bronco and a guy who Vic Fangio coached in Chicago, Bryce Callahan, will not play. He had his foot stepped on during practice and the team looks to be taking it easy with him.

I truly believe that the cornerbacks that the Denver Broncos have brought in are the right fit for Fangio’s scheme. It is going to be a lot of fun watching that unit.
