Theo Riddick arrived to Denver on Friday and practiced with the team on Sunday. He met with the media to give his thoughts on his choice in free agency.

Once Theo Riddick was released by the Detroit Lions he was perhaps a very sought out player in the free agency pool. Riddick had originally visited Denver and left without a deal. However, he was choosing between the Broncos and Saints.

After New Orleans signed Jacquizz Rodgers, it was all but done that Riddick would end up in Denver. The news was announced just a few hours before the Broncos took the field in the Hall of Fame game. The team made the signing official on Sunday.

What Theo Riddick brings to the Denver Broncos offense, in my opinion, is another weapon for Joe Flacco in the receiving game. While he is listed as a running back, RIddick thrives in the passing game. This could help lessen the load on Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman so that they are more prepared for later on in the season.

Theo Riddick got a chance to speak to the media about his process and why he chose the Denver Broncos.

“Denver was the best fit for me. Because they are going to utilize my talents, my strengths. I got a lot of experience, I have been in the game for six years. They [Denver] have a young room, very talented. But hopefully I can help them out in terms of things that they can see before it happens. They can get that from experience. Hopefully it comes in handy.”

I believe Joe Flacco and Rich Scangarello are very excited about this move. It truly does give the Denver Broncos another weapon in the passing game. Phillip Lindsay did have some catches last season, but having a player that can truly be utilized for that specific situation can benefit an offense.

We will get to see Theo Riddick in action, hopefully, on Thursday night when the Broncos travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks.
