Which wide receivers make it?

At this point, the Broncos’ top five receivers are Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Tim Patrick, and Juwann Winfree.

This offseason, only Sutton, Patrick, and Winfree have taken part in the majority of practices.

Sanders is recovering from an Achilles injury, though he appears to be back almost to full strength. Hamilton has been struggling with a hamstring injury.

If the Broncos were to keep only five wide receivers with Riddick acting as a pseudo “sixth”, they would probably try to keep two players on the practice squad.

The only issue with keeping just five receivers? Some good players are going to be cut. Namely, the Broncos would risk losing undrafted studs Kelvin McKnight and Trinity Benson, but if we’ve learned anything in recent history, it’s that every NFL team is trying to keep their own guys.

Unless McKnight or Benson do something absolutely incredible in preseason action over the next four weeks, I would say there’s a decent chance — even with solid tape out there — that one or both could sneak to the practice squad.
