With the difficult times surrounding the Denver Broncos tight end group, the team will bring in Moral Stephens to provide depth at the position.

The Denver Broncos have struggled a bit when it comes to their tight ends. The only real positive player I have heard of at that position is Noah Fant. The other tight ends have either been hurt or have not been talked about much.

Denver’s coaching staff decided to bring in another player to the fold at tight end. Enter Moral Stephens. The Broncos announced that they signed the former Florida Gator tight end to a deal Saturday morning. In a corresponding move, the team waived Justin Vogel, who Denver signed earlier this week.

What does Stephens bring to the Denver Broncos? The biggest thing he will bring is depth at tight end. Jake Butt has missed practice due to what is believed to be a road bump in his ACL recovery. Bug Howard was also hit with an ankle injury and will be sidelined for a few weeks.

Stephens was originally with the Buffalo Bills during rookie minicamp. He spent a few weeks with the team before the Bills decided to part ways.

Moral Stephens recorded 15 catches for 261 yards and three touchdowns during his time at Florida. Most of his time with the Gators was spent as a special teams contributor. He recorded all three of his touchdowns during his final season with the Gators. Two of the touchdowns helped lead to wins.

Regarding Moral Stephens, I believe he will only be here for depth until either Bug Howard or Jake Butt recover from their injuries. Denver will now enter Saturday’s practice at Broncos Stadium at Mile High with seven tight ends on the roster.

With only a few days until Denver travels to Canton, Ohio to take on the Atlanta Falcons, the Broncos will be heavy at the tight end position. The battle to whom makes the first step towards the final 53-man roster will begin.
