Who The Broncos Should Take a Look At

Eric Berry

It’s safe to say that NFL fans are probably pretty surprised that Eric Berry is not only still on the market, but has not had many visits with teams, either. Berry missed most of 2018 with a torn Achilles along with a bone spur, so his health may be coming in question and keeping those GM’s from picking up the phone.

At 30 years old, some teams may not think he is worth taking a chance on. However, the Broncos should not be one of those teams. We’ve seen Eric Berry fight the ultimate battle (remember Berry was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014) and beat it; we know this guy is capable of making quite the comeback. Eric Berry would make sense on a one-year deal with the Broncos; he would provide a veteran presence in the safeties group and would make a good mentor to the younger guys (Justin Simmons is 25, while Will Parks and Su’a Cravens are both 24) and could give the younger safeties another opportunity to develop further.

Plus, it’s always fun to get a star player from a division opponent. Wouldn’t it be fun to see Eric Berry beat up on his former team twice a year? Denver would be the ideal place for him to get healthy and revive his career.
