4 Broncos players who can step into leadership roles in 2019
2. Phillip Lindsay
Phillip Lindsay exploded into the NFL in the 2018 home opener thriller versus the Seahawks, and quickly exploded into the hearts of Broncos fans, making him a fan favorite.
Lindsay was arguably deserving of Rookie of the Year nominations, not far behind fellow running back Saquon Barkley (New York Giants). The Broncos truly found a gem in this undrafted free agent, and he has been quite the inspiration to others around the league who wish to get their shot.
Unfortunately, an injury put an end to Lindsay’s stellar rookie season late in the year. However, Lindsay is a perfect candidate to become a leader on this team. He does not shy away from hard work and has become the go-to workhorse on the Denver Broncos offense. Coming into his sophomore season, Lindsay is ready to prove himself once again:
"“The mindset doesn’t change. You’ve got to continue doing what you’re doing so you can stay. That’s how it goes. My mindset is grind. My mindset is ‘what can I do to continue to better myself?” Phillip Lindsay (via CBS Denver)."
This is the perfect mindset, and the kind of mindset the team as a whole needs. Lindsay has the ideal attitude to lead this team.
