Wide receiver: Trinity Benson

Phillip Lindsay wore the jersey no. 2 when he initially got to the Denver Broncos last year.

It ensured that Lindsay would have his pick of jersey numbers when rosters were cut down and he was one of the top three backs on the team.

Before Lindsay wore no. 30, he impressed the coaching staff and fans wearing no. 2. Trinity Benson has been passed the no. 2 this offseason and is balling out.

The Broncos signed Benson out of East Central as an undrafted player. Have you ever heard of that place? I hadn’t either. Obviously, we got to talking about Benson in the dog days of the offseason, because what else do you talk about in May and June?

Benson has big-time speed, which again is not in abundance in Denver’s offense.

Benson has been getting looks and taking advantage of those opportunities with the Broncos’ first-team offense. If he can prove in preseason games to be effective not only on offense but on special teams, he’s going to have a place on the roster.
