Offensive Line

Battle: Swing Linemen

The Broncos may have to get a little bit creative on the offensive line this year, at least in case of injury.

What happens if Dalton Risner gets hurt? What happens if Ron Leary gets hurt? Who is the backup center? Who will back up the tackles?

There have to be some contingencies in place and right now the Broncos’ top backup linemen, as far as I can see, are 2018 sixth-round pick Sam Jones, Elijah Wilkinson, veteran Don Barclay, and veteran Chaz Green.

It’s probably not the exact position they want to be in, but Jones has upside and Wilkinson started some games at RG last year. He’s also a tackle by trade.

The Broncos have some UDFAs at the OT positions who could end up being considered but my guess is, if the Broncos suffered an injury at either tackle position, Dalton Risner would kick out to that spot and Jones would likely have the top interior backup position.

This is an area the Broncos need someone to step up this offseason.
