Which second-year player will take the biggest leap?

Answered by: Ty Walden

When it comes to players going into their second season, there can be some growing pains.

What is notably known as the sophomore slump, some NFL players who had solid rookie campaigns can find themselves struggling in year two.

One player on the Denver Broncos roster who should avoid that slump and have a lot of success in year two is wideout DaeSean Hamilton.

Hamilton spent about half of his rookie season dealing with various injuries. First, he dealt with an MCL injury that kept him out of the lineup for a few weeks. And then towards the end of the season, he dealt with soreness in his knee.

While it appeared he did not miss any time with the soreness, it could be the reason why he struggled at the end of the year.

With Sanders’ injury still in question, I would look for DaeSean Hamilton to have a strong second year. His speed and route running abilities should give him the boost he needs to make some noise in the 2019 season.

With the injuries and rookie year behind him, look for him to play more of an impact for the Denver Broncos as the offense tries to excel.
