Who will lead TEs in snaps?

Prediction: Noah Fant

Although Noah Fant may not be starting games for the Broncos, I think over the course of the season he will end up leading the team in snaps at the position.

It will be close between him and his top two contenders — Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt — but I think the Broncos will find over the course of the season that Fant offers them the most dynamic option in the passing game and he will be strong enough in the running game to stay on the field.

Fant is also a prime candidate to be on the field split out as a receiver. The other tight ends are capable of doing this, but Fant is the team’s best athlete at this position and he will get more reps in the passing game than anyone else on this list in my opinion.

In fact, I think Jake Butt will out-snap (or at least out-target) Heuerman as well when it comes to passing reps. Not that the Broncos are going to exclusively utilize Heuerman in the running game, but I think they will definitely prioritize Fant and Butt when the ball is in the air.
