2019 All-AFC West team: Chargers dominate talented division
TE: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Graham Tiedtke
Speaking of Travis Kelce, he is absolutely the best tight end in the AFC West.
Kelce is like a receiver; a big, big wide receiver. Standing at 6’5”, 260 lbs, Kelce is very difficult to defend. He managed to snatch 103 passes for over 1,300 yards and ten touchdowns in 2018. Last year was the third year of his career (and in a row) that he topped 1,000 receiving yards. It also happened to be the best year of his career in general.
In two games against the Denver Broncos, Kelce caught thirteen passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Unless a new tight end in the division emerges as a threat, Kelce is going to continue being the best at the position in the division.
In Fantasy Football, Kelce is a must-have. There are just not a lot of good tight ends in the league that can catch the football and generate a lot of yards and touchdowns. With most of the players at the position, you never know what you will get. With Kelce, it is almost a slam dunk.
When facing Kelce, it is likely that he will lead the Chiefs in receptions and yards. It is unfortunate that the Broncos haven’t found a way to stop him. Take him away from the Chiefs and they are a much different team.
