LB3: Todd Davis, Denver Broncos

Graham Tiedtke

Davis is a tackling machine for the Denver Broncos. Last season, he recorded 114 tackles which ranked 21st in the NFL, ninth in the AFC and third in the AFC West.

Davis is going to try to fill the void left at the middle linebacker position that was left when Brandon Marshall signed with the rival Oakland Raiders.

Davis is a very good run stopper. In his career, he has made 338 total tackles (220 solo). He had six tackles for loss during the 2018 season.

Last offseason, the Denver Broncos signed Davis to a three-year extension through 2021. It is clear that his efforts and impact for the team has given him a name in the league.

I believe that certain players have a chip on their shoulder. Davis is one of those players after being cut and signed to the New Orleans Saints multiple times near the beginning of his career. He finally has a home in Denver and the Broncos seem comfortable and confident in Davis for him to become a major part in the middle of the defense after the departure of Marshall.

He may not be the best-known linebacker, but that very well could change after his first season under Vic Fangio’s defensive scheme.
