2019 All-AFC West team: Chargers dominate talented division
LB1: Von Miller, Denver Broncos
Graham Tiedtke
Von Miller is the best linebacker in the league, let alone the division. He has recorded 10+ sacks in all but one of his eight seasons in the league and shows no signs of slowing down.
The best thing about Miller’s game is his jump off the line of scrimmage once the ball is snapped. He is the best at knowing the opposing team’s snap count and is ready before the offense ever is. Sometimes it catches up to him and he is called for offsides but oftentimes he is safe.
Last season, Miller broke the Denver Broncos’ record for career sacks with 98. At 30-years old, he still has a lot of football left in him and could catch the all-time leader in sacks (Bruce Smith, 200).
Trailing just Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, Miller was second in the AFC West in terms of sacks for the 2018 season, with 14.5. With the presence of Bradley Chubb in his second season, Miller could have around the same sack count in 2019. That is very scary for opposing offenses.
Miller has been the best player on the Denver Broncos defense for a while and is always so much fun to watch. Without question, putting Miller on this list was the easiest decision.
