Denver Broncos 2019 roster overview: Inside Linebacker
By Tylor Walden
The Rest
Joseph Jones (Age 25)
You might have heard his name at the beginning of the season. He was the one that blocked a punt in Baltimore that helped set up the first touchdown of the day for the Broncos. Despite his limited time on the field, he recorded 18 tackles.
He is a bit of a dark horse candidate for me on the inside linebacker corps. Interested to see what he is capable of in 2019.
A.J. Johnson (Age 27)
Denver took their chances with A.J. Johnson during the 2018 offseason. He was a player that had a promising career until he was accused of a crime that forced Tennessee to kick him off the team. After learning that he was not guilty, he resumed his football career.
Denver has placed quite a few chips in his basket, so I am hoping that he can have a solid second year with the team.
Josh Watson (Age 23)
Denver brought in the former Colorado State linebacker to a pretty big deal for an undrafted rookie. Usually when teams sign undrafted rookies to big deals, there is a lot of promise that they have.
By seeing his highlight tape, there could be a reason behind it. He could be the surefire tackler that the Denver Broncos need. But time will tell if he can transition to the NFL.
Joe Dineen (Age 23)
Another undrafted free agent inside linebacker. Joe Dineen comes from Kansas University. Vic Fangio sure loves his linebackers that can tackle. With Dineen, he could very well be a camp body that is eligible for the practice squad.
Or he could be that diamond in the rough. We will not know for sure until training camp and preseason get underway.
