The Pro Football Hall of Fame made a decision to present Pat Bowlen’s Hall of Fame jacket and ring to his family ahead of the ceremony in August.

Broncos Country is still mourning over the loss of Pat Bowlen as we are just about a month away until he is formally enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There was a bit of a question being determined on how the gold jacket and ring for Pat Bowlen would be handled.

It was determined that the Pro Football Hall of Fame would be handing the gold jacket and the ring for the late owner to the Bowlen family.

9News was told that the jacket and ring would be given to the Bowlen estate. From there, the Bowlen family did announce it would be displayed in the front lobby of the UCHealth Center Headquarters.

Pat Bowlen passed away back in June after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The debate was how the jacket and ring would be presented. Bowlen is the first person to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and to pass before being officially enshrined.

The Hall of Fame determined that because they were underway in creating the jacket and ring that the family of the late owner would receive them once they were completed.

I believe this is a wise move by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Although, as a fan, I am a bit disappointed that they waited this long to get him into the Hall of Fame. Pat Bowlen has done so much for not only the Denver Broncos organization, but for the National Football League as well.

While Broncos Country is excited to see their long time owner be enshrined, it truly was too long of a wait to get him into Canton, Ohio in the first place.

Pat Bowlen will officially be enshrined on August 3rd. I am very happy that his family will be receiving his artifacts that indicate how much he has done for football.
