Adam Gotsis

Age: 26
2019 salary cap hit: $1,252,971
Years under contract: 1

Adam Gotsis had to be one of the more shocking picks John Elway has made in the top two rounds of any of his draft classes at the time.

Pretty much no one had ever heard of Gotsis when the Broncos used a second-round pick to get him, which is pretty rare for any draft class.

Gotsis was recovering from an ACL injury, didn’t participate in the pre-draft festivities, had a quietly effective career at Georgia Tech, and was still relatively new to the game of football.

But he has a crazy wingspan, heavy hands, and an improving pass rush repertoire.

Gotsis is a very good run defender but what’s impressing in the past two seasons is his improvement in the pass rush department, where he’s starting to make a name for himself.

He walked into a tough situation in 2016 when he was supposed to ‘replace’ Malik Jackson but that hasn’t happened at all.

Still, Gotsis is a very good player deserving of a second contract. How much money he earns will depend on the growth he shows here in year four.
