Shelby Harris

Age: 27
2019 salary cap hit: $3.095 million
Years under contract: 1

Let’s compare Shelby Harris and 2015 star defensive end Malik Jackson statistically, shall we?

Malik Jackson (2015)

  • 991 snaps (19 games)
  • 5.5 sacks
  • 20 QB hits
  • 9 tackles for loss
  • 7 passes batted

Shelby Harris (2017-18)

  • 905 snaps (32 games)
  • 7 sacks
  • 16 QB hits
  • 15 TFL
  • 7 passes batted

I included both of Shelby Harris’ two seasons with the Broncos here to even out the snap counts a bit, although Jackson’s 19-game (including playoffs) snap count in 2015 is about two full games worth of snaps.

The point I’m trying to make here should be clear regardless — Harris is a high impact defensive lineman who deserves full-time snaps.

If he doesn’t get that in 2019, I’ll be shocked.
