Sam Jones

Age: 23
2019 salary cap hit: $612,138
Years under contract: 3

Although veteran Don Barclay (more on him on the next page) could potentially be listed as the top backup interior player on Denver’s depth chart when training camp opens, that spot should be there for Sam Jones to take.

Jones was a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Broncos out of Arizona State. He needed some work coming out and he’s gotten it. The Broncos liked him enough to forego trying to stash him on the practice squad. He was on the active roster all year.

It would be awesome if Jones could emerge as a starting caliber player this offseason and potentially replace Connor McGovern (free agent) or Ron Leary (possible cap casualty) next offseason.
