Su’a Cravens
Age: 23
2019 Salary Cap hit: $853K
Years under contract: 2
Broncos Country was as excited as Su’a Cravens was when he was traded to the Denver Broncos during the 2018 offseason. Sadly enough, the Denver Broncos could not get a whole lot out of him in his first year.
He started the season on injured reserve as he recovered from knee soreness. He returned in November, but did not make much of an impact. In fact, he was placed on the inactive list for the final three games of the 2018 season.
Why he was placed on is uncertain. It could have been because of his playing status under Vance Joseph, or in simpler terms, put in the doghouse. Injuries could have played a factor as well.
I can see this training camp becoming a make or break it for him. If he is unable to perform at a high level, he could be one of the veteran players that does not make the final 53-man roster. Vic Fangio stated that for Cravens to make the team, he will need to at the safety position.
If he is unable to produce, the Broncos would not lose a cent in dead cap. This could truly be his one chance to make an impact on the Denver Broncos defense.
