Elijah Wilkinson

Age: 24
2019 salary cap hit: $645,000
Years under contract: 1

The Broncos found Elijah Wilkinson on the undrafted free agent heap two years ago out of Massachusetts, and he has turned out to be a quick learner.

Wilkinson came in as a tackle by trade but actually helped fill in for the Broncos last year mainly at the guard position.

He started seven games for the Broncos at right guard and played in 12 games overall last season, and enters his third year with the team as the odds-on favorite to win the ‘swing tackle’ job.

Someone will have to take that spot from Wilkinson, who was part of a patchwork line last year but a line that showed resilience and improvement throughout the season.

He was credited with allowing 26 pressures and four sacks last season at right guard, numbers that simply will not hold up over the long term.

He’s going to have to prove he’s an improved player in year three to stick on the roster.
