John Elway has helped lead the charge for the Broncos for years. The team’s recent struggles has one writer predicting it could be the end of Elway’s time.

Ever since the Josh McDaniels era ended, if you want to call it that, John Elway has worked hard to be sure that the Denver Broncos would compete for years to come. Of course, there were going to be some growing pains at times, but the team has won multiple AFC West titles and appeared in two Super Bowls.

The real growing pains have been since Peyton Manning’s retirement. Four different quarterbacks have played under center since. The defense has been great, but have shown holes. And it seems like every year, the team is losing a big time member of the Super Bowl squad that won the title just a little over three years ago.

I have seen plenty of fans call for Elway’s job last season. Which is completely uncalled for, in my opinion. However, one writer predicts that if this season goes the same way as the last two, it could be a reality.

Rucker Haringey from FanSided gave his five bold predictions for the Denver Broncos in 2019. Perhaps his biggest one is that he says John Elway will “wave the white flag in 2019 and depart from the Broncos.”

He states that it will only happen if the Denver Broncos are unable to snap their playoff drought. Haringey also states that as far as evaluating quarterbacks, Elway has not done a great job at it.

From my perspective, this is another example at how little faith the media has in the Denver Broncos once again. I honestly believe that this team has shown vast amount of improvement.

You also have to put into consideration the other free agents he has brought into the Denver Broncos organization. Players like Emmanuel Sanders, Aqib Talib, Demarcus Ware just to name a few. He has also had some solid draft selections.

While quarterback might be the area that has been lacking, to say that he has been unable to evaluate prospects at other positions seems like a bit of a reach.

We are uncertain how the Denver Broncos will look in 2019, but I do not see John Elway leaving the organization anytime soon.
