Veteran Denver radio announcer Susie Wargin has been hired by the Denver Broncos as the team’s new radio sideline reporter.
Per news released Wednesday, KOA NewsRadio has hired a new sideline reporter for their Broncos radio broadcasts this season. Veteran Denver radio personality Susie Wargin will replace Tyler Polumbus on KOA 850-AM and 94.1-FM-KOA, the team’s flagship radio station.
Wargin, a fourth-generation Coloradan, has been a staple of Denver radio for almost 20 years. A Colorado State graduate, she commenced her professional radio career at 93.3 FM KTCL in Fort Collins, Colorado doing weekend overnight shifts.
She then spent nine years at KBPI-FM in Denver and currently serves as the mid-day personality at 103.5 FM the Fox of Denver.
Wargin was ecstatic upon hearing this news as she confirmed on Twitter:
Denver Broncos Ring of Fame member, Steve Atwater, was also excited for Wargin:
Wargin has extensive experience in sports as well, first serving as the CSU radio football sideline reporter as a collegian.
She has also spent time with KOA as the famed station’s first female sports reporter. Additionally, she has been the morning sports anchor on KUSA-TV (9 News) of Denver and has been the host of the weekly John Elway Show and the CSU Coaches Show in times past.
The well-versed Wargin has covered Super Bowls, the World Series, the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Frozen Four, various college football bowl games, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and the 2010 Winter Olympics of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Congrats to Susie on joining the Denver Broncos radio team. Looking forward to an amazing season with her on the sidelines reporting for our Denver Broncos team in 2019.
