10. Courtland Sutton, WR

Courtland Sutton had a pretty decent rookie season. He caught 42 passes on 84 total targets for 704 yards and four touchdowns.

His rookie campaign got off to a slow start as the Broncos had Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders secured as the no. 1 and no. 2 receivers.

Then, it all changed. Thomas was eventually shipped off to the Houston Texans, which paved the way for Sutton to becoming a starter. Then Emmanuel Sanders tore his Achilles, ending his season and making Sutton the go-to guy.

Sutton’s best game came in a win against the Cincinnati Bengals in early December of 2018. He caught 4-of-7 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos have a new coaching staff and I am confident that they are going to help Sutton exceed expectations in his second season—his first full season as a starting wide receiver.

Joe Flacco has seen a lot during his 11-year career and I think he will utilize Sutton’s abilities the way they should be used.

Sutton’s ability to stretch the field is going to come in handy. As a rookie, he averaged 16.8 yards per reception. While he may not exceed that number, I don’t know if it’s going to be decreased by a whole lot, which is a good sign.

There is no doubt that Sutton will have to continue to prove himself. But if his rookie season is any indication of what’s to come, Broncos Country should be very excited.
