Study says Denver Broncos fans are seventh best in NFL
By Tylor Walden
A recent study on NFL fanbases ranks the fans of the Denver Broncos number seven on the list out of the 32 teams. Is that too high or too low?
There is no doubt about it. The Denver Broncos have some of the most loyal fans that I have ever seen. Just think about that for a second. Seeing a sea of orange every Sunday afternoon. The mile high altitude provides some adrenaline. Hearing the chants of IN-COM-PLETE every time the opposing team does not complete a pass. There is nothing like it.
However, out of all 32 teams in the NFL, how do the fans of the Denver Broncos fare? According to a study done by Mike Lewis, a School of Business professor at Emory University Goizueta, Broncos Country fans rank as the seventh best fan base in the entire NFL.
Honestly, top ten is not bad at all. And hey, I know one famous Broncos player that wore the number seven. John Elway knows what I am talking about.
The six teams that beat out the Denver Broncos on this study were the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay Packers.
How did this study come to this conclusion? According to the study, it is based on three factors. Fan Equity, Social Equity, and Road Equity.
Most of the teams on this list above Denver I can understand based on history, championships, and markets. The fact that the Denver Broncos are at the seventh spot is honestly really impressive.
But, if I know my Denver Broncos fans and friends, seventh is not enough. Broncos Country wants that number one spot. It might take a bit of time before the team gets to that spot.
Then again, this is just based on opinion. Broncos Country knows who is number one in their minds and hearts.
