Denver Broncos: Fun free agents to consider signing
4. De’Anthony Thomas, WR/Returner
Coming out of Oregon, De’Anthony Thomas’ best case scenario — strictly on the field — seemed to be what Tyreek Hill has become for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Instead, Thomas was more of a gimmick player and scarcely used offensive weapon whose true position is not specifically as a wide receiver.
There’s no question he has the ability to make big plays with the ball in his hands, and the Broncos currently lack clarity at the kick and punt return positions.
In fact, the coaching staff wouldn’t even comment on who the front-runners are in that regard at the end of OTAs.
It seems odd to have literally no clue who will be returning kicks and punts for the Broncos and if things don’t go well at the start of training camp, they may be inclined to look into a player like this who has proven he can do it in the past.
