Denver Broncos: Fun free agents to consider signing
3. Muhammad Wilkerson, Defensive Line
Like Corey Liuget, Wilkerson is a member of the vaunted 2011 NFL Draft first round which will go down as one of the best in NFL history (the Broncos got Von Miller).
Wilkerson was picked up by the Packers last year as a low risk, high-reward type of signing, and unfortunately for them, it didn’t really pay off.
The former New York Jets star played in just three games for the Packers and finished with five tackles and no hits on the quarterback.
Despite that, Wilkerson has consistently gotten to the QB throughout his career, even when he doesn’t play a full season. He has at least three sacks every year since his rookie year and averaged seven sacks per 16 games prior to coming to Green Bay last year.
He could be a nice fit in Vic Fangio’s defense as a rotational player and is still only 30.
