Denver Broncos: Fun free agents to consider signing
2. Corey Liuget, Defensive Line
Whoever picks up Corey Liuget is getting a really nice low risk, high-reward type of playmaker on the defensive line.
Despite the fact that he only played six games last year, Liuget has proven himself capable of getting pressure on the quarterback from the interior defensive line.
In his early 20s, Liuget was a serious problem for opposing offenses, racking up 33 hits, 18 sacks, and four forced fumbles in his first four years in the NFL.
The last four years have not been quite as productive for him from a statistical standpoint. He has 20 hits, six sacks, and just one forced fumble over the last four years.
Still, Liuget just turned 29 in March and can play all over a defensive line. The Broncos have solid depth up front on defense already but adding this type of veteran player to the group could push them to ‘elite’ status.
