The loss of Aqib Talib proved a glaring hole in the Denver Broncos secondary last season. How does the group look going into the 2019 season?

Broncos Country certainly is thankful that the Chris Harris Jr. situation resolved itself. The way I see it, the Denver Broncos secondary position took a huge hit in 2018. The last thing this unit needs is to lose another key player.

The Denver Broncos secondary gradually got worse since the Super Bowl 50 season. When John Elway made major roster moves during the 2014 offseason and beefed up the defense, you could tell there was a major difference.

In 2018, the secondary saw a huge hit with Aqib Talib no longer on the roster. Last season, the Broncos gave up an average of 7.7 yards per pass. That number has not been that high since opponents averaged 7.1 yards per pass during the 2013 season.

John Elway went out this offseason and was able to sign two big names at cornerback in Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan. And perhaps the biggest one to date so far was agreeing to a restructured contract year deal for Chris Harris Jr., who will be earning more money, but will be a free agent in 2020.

Hopefully, that situation resolves itself. But the biggest question is did the Broncos get better at the cornerback position? Let us take a look.
